As I get older and "our" two wars rage on, Memorial Day becomes an even more somber occasion. We display a Colonial flag at the Forester residence for that is the flag under so many of my ancestors fought. Fortunately, my forbears all survived that war though not all unscathed.
Vietnam vet and author Michael Norman describes how a war's survivors may live their lives for the dead even those they only knew for an instant.
