They Said It. I Repeat It.

We had two very good men, and men of faith, run for President in 2000 and 2004. But large segments of the electorate concluded that they did not really understand or relate to or frankly respect their ways of life.

By the way I have to say I think Al Gore won.
Barack Obama

Call me Captain Obvious but it's not a very smart move by Sen. Clinton to take any shots at Al Gore right now. Come on November!

hm.... she doesn't actually state that Al Gore lost, if that is the pot shot you think she is making; she is merely stating that large segments of the populace actually didn't vote for him.

Christopher,

No, she did not. Hillary certainly implied that Gore "lost" because he "did not really understand or relate to or frankly respect their ways of life." Her further implication was that this wouldn't be a problem with her.

It was in many ways a poor strategic move. Hillary Clinton isn't running against Gore. Thus there was little to gain from throwing him under the bus with the Obama-supporting Kerry. Nor did it do anything to advance her cause.

This was the kind of tactic not even a Republican would use -- a huge turn-off.
